100th Day of School

We were so excited to finally celebrate our 100th Day of School!
It is always a big deal in Kindergarten and we have been keeping track of the count since the first day of school. The children were so excited when they walked through the doors to be greeted by a much “older” looking Mrs. Silverstein and to show off their 100 year old self. We started our morning by wearing our 100th day crowns and then eagerly began our busy and fun filled day. Here are some activities we participated in to celebrate this special day and  also helped us “explore” the number 100:

*We counted to 100 by 1’s, 5’s, and 10’s and practiced our tally marks to 100.

*We made portraits of ourselves at 100 years old

*We made gumball machines with 100 gumballs

*We built wonderful creations using 100 Legos.

To wind down at the end of the day, the children enjoyed their afternoon snack as they listened to me read Miss Bindergarten Celebrates the 100th Day of Kindergarten. They truly enjoyed celebrating being 100 days smarter!

Welcome to Mrs. Silverstein's Kindergarten!

Welcome to our classroom site! I'm so glad that you came to visit. TurningEyes  It is my hope that this site will give you a peek at what our kindergarteners are learning & doing throughout the school year. Come take a look.

Kindergarten is a year of growing socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. Your involvement, interest, and enthusiasm will help make this a wonderful year of growth for you and your child.

Take a moment to imagine the kindergarten world: letters, numbers, reading and writing stories, sharing blocks, puzzles, play, paint and playdough. Imagination and creativity are everywhere. As you talk with your child about their day and celebrate their best effort on the work they do, remember that Kindergarten is a "child's garden." Many times the process is more important than the product, and learning is accomplished by doing, touching, and experiencing.

A child's first and most important teacher is his or her parents. Communication between parents and teachers is essential. Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions or concerns you may have!

I am looking forward to a fantastic year with you and your children!  Have fun browsing and visiting our site!

Bayview Walking Club (BWC): Every Monday, Wednesday, & Friday mornings at 8:15am (weather permitting). Please check the virtual backpack for more details.
